What Is IAS
IAS stands for International Accreditation Service, is a non-profit, public interest company that has provided accreditation services since 1975. IAS accredits a wide range of companies and organizations including government entities, commercial businesses, and professional associations.
The IAS accreditation program is based on recognized national and international standards which ensure acceptance of domestic and / or global accreditation. IAS is a subsidiary of the International Code Council (ICC), a leader in building safety, and the professional association that develops International Codes.
International Credentials
As one of the leading accreditation bodies in the United States, IAS is a signatory to three major international organizations that establish an integrated system for evaluating and recognizing competent accreditation bodies around the world. These organizations are identified as “collaborative” because they have agreed to cooperate with each other by complying with the same set of accreditation criteria and to undergo periodic on-site evaluations to determine continuing compliance with Standard ISO / IEC 17011, General Requirements for bodies. accreditation that meets the appropriateness of accreditation of an assessment body (CAB).
